What are GRP Planter Inserts?
Planter Protect planter inserts are manufactured from glass-reinforced plastic using PET resin, providing a lightweight, durable and fully watertight planting solution.
Each insert is made bespoke for the project, allowing tolerances, interfaces and constraints to be addressed early — before they become site issues.
Fully bespoke manufacture
Each planter insert is manufactured to suit the specific dimensions and geometry of the project. Bespoke fabrication allows seamless integration with architectural, landscape and joinery designs, supporting both standard and non-standard planter forms.
Standard 5mm wall thickness
Our planter inserts are manufactured with a standard wall thickness of 5mm, providing strength, durability and resistance to damage during installation and use. Wall thickness may be adjusted where required to suit project-specific performance or size requirements.
Waterproof by construction
The inserts are fully waterproof by construction, formed as a continuous GRP / PET resin shell. This eliminates the need for secondary waterproofing systems and reduces the risk of leaks, failure points or long-term water ingress.
Approx. 7kg/m2 in weight
With an approximate weight of 7kg per square metre, the inserts offer a lightweight alternative to traditional planter construction methods. Reduced weight supports easier handling, lower structural loading and improved transport and installation efficiency.
